La Bodeguita del Medio is a typical restaurant-bar of Havana (Cuba). It is a famous tourist destination because of the personalities which have patronized it: the poet Pablo Neruda, the most notably the writer Ernest Hemmingway. La Bodeguita lays claim to being the birthplace of the Mojito cocktail, prepared in the bar since its opening in 1942, although this is disputed.
"La Guarida" Paladar - In my opinion the best restaurant in Havana. Of international repute, especially since the amazing building was the location of the Oscar-nominated film Fresa y Chocolate (Strawberry and Chocolate) which added to it's publicity by being filmed there. Located at 457 Concordia near the junction with Escobar.
